An Open Message to LennyMcLennington. Please Read.
Why, why did you have to introduce your own political agenda into a project that was honestly doing really well? why did you have to use it as a justification to block talented people?
This project wasn't here to get political, it was here because people like MultiMC and refused to deal with the developer who couldnt stand FOSS - it was politically neutral ground.. its here so people can play minecraft in the simplest, easiest and best way possible.. it its a boon to the minecraft community.
but no, you had to make it about politics, which does not and should not ever belong in minecraft - minecraft for me is a safe space, its a place to get away from the dramas of the world, which continuously bombard and overwhelm me. I don't want to discuss your political views, and i don't think it should matter if people do or don't agree with you on your views.
I want talented people from all walks of life come in and create something the community can be proud of, a launcher made by the community for the community. but no, you had to split the community - you had to break the talent in two halves, just because you cant fathom them thinking differently, and you actively hindered development.. I still wonder what polyMC could've been if you hadn't done this.
To anyone else reading this: Sure by all means express your views (please remember to accept what ever criticism that people throw at you for it regardless of what your position is) but on no account should you use that as justification for removing contributors to the detriment of a project.
To lenny, its too late. you fucked up. you should never have gone this far. at this point i don't think you can save it. but can you please at least admit you acted way out of order? show us you are not above admitting your mistakes.
I hope the new fork, PlaceHolderMC/PrismLauncher can still be that neutral ground, where we set aside our differences to do exactly what was set out to do. create the best possible minecraft launcher so we can all play minecraft in the way we want to.

This. It's exactly what we all think right now. I hope PlaceholderMC can become what we all dreamed PolyMC would become. I admired PolyMC and what it stood for, and to watch it all be destroyed like that, by people who would probably rather me not exist, hurts. I can't imagine what it's like for the developers watching their hobby be destroyed in an instant. Politics have no space in a Minecraft project. Thank you to all of the developers on PolyMC, and I hope PlaceholderMC can become something great.

well i bought my kid a steam deck to play Minecraft java and lenny breaking polymc has ruined his day

I’m absolutely baffled that he just snapped and destroyed any goodwill and vandalized his own project all to “own the libs”. As if all the hate needed to bleed into a fun and creative community.
