@CurseForge is nuking all mods that provide opt-out from Quark's #BLM propaganda, even though they're using the method provided by Quark's developer! CF customer support said they would allow it, but the mods still get banned. At least four such mods have been removed already.

I didn't care that it was BLM I cared that it was a political message in a kids game, I play games to escape reality, not to get anyone's opinions shoved in my face.

They shouldnt ban all the mods stopping the annoying speech Quark forces you to read.
cause at the end of the day its an opinion, im not being racist, but theres a counter argument to the black lives matter movement, the owner of Quark shouldnt force his opinion on his userbase

there isn’t a fucking counter argument to a race of people lmao

yes there is, check issac butterfields video about the problem with the black lives matter stuff, not his one about aboriginals, the one before that.

mate, I’m guessing the vid is something about the rioters, but you can’t use them to deny a whole race of people the rights they deserve

Black Lives Matter (the organization and movement) is different than supporting Black Lives. You can support black people and not support BLM.

It seems CurseForge has decided nobody is allowed to opt-out from a BLM propaganda screen in Quark.
The opt-out method is intended to exist, and is documented in Quark r244 changelog:
If you're a modpack maker, and you do not want the message shipped, include /saves/.quark/.blm_marker in your files. I'd rather you didn't, but I also understand it's somewhat hypocritical to rail on mods with player banning code and not give pack makers an option here.
The location of the opt-out marker is rather inconvenient, since it requires exporting the saves folder, which usually contains private worlds used for testing the modpack. A mod which creates the file automatically is much more convenient for most users, but CurseForge doesn't permit making the opt-out easy. CurseForge has taken a stance that it wants minecraft players to be forced to read the BLM message, even when Quark's author would permit skipping it.

Hm, That's interesting.

it uses a method intended for modpacks, not mods.
[–]mzbear[S] 0 points1 point2 points  (1 child)
And are modpacks not composed of mods?
[–]leppixxcantsignin 0 points1 point2 points  (0 children)
mods... and often configuration files, pre-made worlds, and scripts.

This was one of the most disgusting propaganda ploys yet. I loaded up Valhelsia 2 modpack and immediately killed the process when i saw that garbage.
I'm all about choice - Vazkii can flood his mods with things he knows nothing about. We can choose not to play the mods. It's a shame for it to drag a modpack down.
Just like hollywood, comics, etc. Leave your politics at home. <hypocracy>With that said, i may have to give SF4 another play through. Gotta love the first quest icon.</hypocracy>

Wait, do you think comics and Hollywood aren’t political? Are you insane? You’re a Trump person, so probably just evil.
[–]MoreMAGA 0 points1 point2 points  (2 children)
No, my point was that comics and Hollywood have become primarily political. They are cultural tools used to separate communities and recast value hierarchies.
But yes, orange man bad. noted.
[–]WitchWhoCleans 0 points1 point2 points  (1 child)
Just because you only just now noticed how political movies and comics are, doesn’t mean it’s new.
I’d love to hear what nonsense you have in mind when you talk about the era of “non-political” movies.

If you want to continue the discussion from a political angle, please feel free to slide over to my DMs. I'm not going to go that far off topic of the OP's post.
This was not a "just noticed" situation. It's the way it always has been, it was literally designed to be that way. The only point i was making is that i have the same message to Vazkii as i have to all of the Hollywood/music industry jerks: you are escapism. Anything more than that is an abuse of the relationship. Best part about capitalism, we can simply walk away, as was my comment. If Vazkii's politics start turning people off of modpacks, modpack devs will stop including it. Problem solved, yay darwin.

You’re a Trump person, so probably just evil.
I don't even like Trump and that is a ridiculous opinion.
[–]WitchWhoCleans 0 points1 point2 points  (27 children)
I'm long done giving trump fans the benefit of the doubt when they always turn out to think I shouldn't have rights.
[–]newflagdesigner 0 points1 point2 points  (26 children)
You are aware that the racist trump supporters are a loud minority and not the majority of trump supporters?
